Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC)

FLAC is a lossless compression format that is totally open. It can be used with its native container or with the Ogg container of the Xiph.Org Foundation.

It is currently possible to use it with Linux, Mac OS X et Windows; in addition to this, it is present in two Java libraries which makes it possible to use this format on any platform that supports a Java Virtual Machine.
